Overview

We are looking for a proactive individual with proven analytical skills to take on the role of Reconciliation Team Supervisor within the Finance Department. This position will report to the Assistant Vice President of Reconciliations and will be tasked with overseeing a designated portfolio of reconciliations. The role requires conducting thorough investigations, collaborating with various departments, and resolving any discrepancies that arise.

About the Finance Department

The Finance Department is essential in supporting the operations of Sports & Arts Summer Camps by delivering high-quality planning, reporting, regulatory compliance, and accounting services. It operates in a dynamic environment with a broad scope. Collaborating with colleagues across the organization, the Finance Department equips senior management with the insights necessary to evaluate performance and guide future strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Directing all facets of the reconciliations team, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Developing training initiatives to enhance skill sets and technical expertise within the reconciliations function.
  • Supervising and coordinating a team of reconciliation analysts to maintain high productivity and service standards in daily operations.
  • Ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of data and reports by analyzing information to confirm that financial statements and reconciliations comply with legal and statutory requirements.
  • Managing all discrepancies related to reconciliations, identifying the best methods for resolution, and implementing corrections.
  • Assisting in the creation of control and reporting systems to improve the efficiency and accuracy of reconciliation processes.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with other departments to promote effective collaboration.
  • Evaluating potential financial or regulatory risks and communicating findings to management.
  • Administering the reconciliation software, including user access and settings.
  • Preparing and validating documentation for systems applications.
  • Reviewing and updating reconciliation procedures to ensure alignment with best practices.
  • Ensuring that the reconciliations function achieves a satisfactory internal audit rating.
  • Researching and adopting new methods and technologies to enhance reconciliation processes.
  • Being available to work outside of standard hours, including weekends, to fulfill job requirements.
  • Performing additional duties as directed by the Assistant Vice President of Reconciliations.
Qualifications and Skills
  • A degree in a relevant field plus five years of experience in banking operations or a related area.
  • A solid understanding of complex accounting procedures and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Familiarity with complex systems and their interfaces.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of reconciliation software is a plus.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong management, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Strong project management and mediation skills.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines, including working outside regular hours.
