We are seeking a highly skilled Planning & Cost Control Specialist to join our team at Ontario Power Generation. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical planning, scheduling, cost control, and project management assistance to various groups.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain resource flowed, resource-leveled schedules, and cost forecasts for operating, engineering, outage, and project work planning.
- Provide technical planning, scheduling, and cost control assistance to various groups, including the development of logical work sequences, resource requirements, and allocations.
- Monitor and analyze schedule and cost performance for tasks/projects/work programs, and make recommendations to improve the planning and control process.
- Assist in the preparation of cost and schedule estimates for capital and OM&A projects, and obtain estimating and scheduling assumptions from Manager or designated source.
- Develop and maintain records to monitor and report on various aspects of station performance, and prepare status reports as required.
- Participate in routine meetings with OPG and external personnel to discuss and work on effective schedules and cost estimates, and to resolve problems related to same.
- Maintain an up-to-date awareness of business systems, work practices, and schedules through attendance at courses or lectures, reading of technical literature, and ongoing collaboration with other work groups.
- Grade 12, plus up to two years of study in a related field, or equivalent.
- Project Management Experience an asset.
- Experience with Primavera Software.
- Ability to prioritize, plan, and execute tasks in a time-effective manner.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work alone or as a collaborative team player.
- Good judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Positive, professional, and enthusiastic demeanor.
