We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist II to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a key member of our Nuclear Medicine department, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures in accordance with established policies and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for examination and operate nuclear medicine equipment to ensure accurate and safe procedures.
- Monitor patients during procedures and prepare, dispense, and administer radiopharmaceuticals as required.
- Perform routine quality control tests on imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor the area for radiation safety and dispose of radioactive substances and contaminated items according to established guidelines.
- Successful completion of a Nuclear Medicine Technology program recognized by the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
- Current certification with CAMRT and eligible for membership with CAMRT and CAMRT-BC.
- Ability to teach clients and others both one-on-one and in groups.
- Ability to integrate and evaluate pertinent data to problem-solve and make decisions effectively.
- Ability to promote client-focused care that demonstrates care for and with clients and significant others, sensitivity to diverse cultures and preferences, client advocacy and social justice concerns.
