Position Overview

The Neighbourhood Pet Clinic is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Care Provider to join our team. This is a permanent position with a commitment of 38 to 44 hours per week. The primary language of work will be English.

Qualifications
  • Education: Degree in veterinary medicine, medicine, dentistry, or optometry.
  • Experience: 1 to 2 years in a relevant field.
Work Environment
  • Relocation expenses will be covered by the employer.
  • Willingness to relocate is required.
  • Work will be conducted in a veterinary clinic setting.
Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose health issues in animals through physical examinations and laboratory tests.
  • Administer treatment to sick or injured animals, including prescribing medications and performing surgeries.
  • Vaccinate animals to prevent diseases.
  • Provide guidance to clients on animal care, including feeding, housing, and hygiene.
  • Conduct routine and emergency examinations.
  • Offer a variety of veterinary services, including obstetrics and dentistry.
  • Supervise a team of animal health technologists and care workers.
Supervision

Supervisory responsibilities will include overseeing 3-4 staff members.

Safety and Security
  • Must be bondable and possess basic security clearance.
  • Eligibility for professional liability insurance is required.
  • Immunization records and a criminal record check are mandatory.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to handle heavy loads (up to 23 kg (50 lbs)).
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail are essential.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Must be able to distinguish between colors and work under pressure.
