Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate and have a valid Driver's License (Class 1 or A) with an Air Brakes Endorsement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues.
  • Demonstrate expertise in mountain driving.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Plan travel routes and make necessary reservations.
  • Collaborate with a partner driver or operate in a convoy.
  • Handle loading and unloading of freight.
  • Operate straight or articulated trucks for transporting materials.
  • Conduct vehicle inspections, including tires, lights, and brakes.
  • Perform brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs.
  • Complete pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections.
  • Communicate effectively with central dispatch.
  • Maintain accurate records of cargo, service hours, distance traveled, and fuel usage.
  • Ensure the safety and security of cargo through proper tarping.
Documentation Skills

Familiarity with various documentation is essential, including:

  • Accident or incident reports
  • Bill of lading
  • Driver logbook
  • Inspection reports
  • Maintenance and repair documentation
  • Trans-border paperwork
  • Trip reports
Experience and Skills

Experience in long-haul trucking is an asset. Candidates should also have:

  • Ability to operate GPS and other navigation systems.
  • Willingness to travel across borders and for extended periods.
  • Capacity to handle heavy loads and perform physically demanding tasks.
