About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Services Worker to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As an Environmental Services Worker, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and functional environment for patients, families, staff, and visitors.

Your primary responsibilities will include cleaning all units as assigned, including patient rooms and public areas. This will involve mopping, dusting, and vacuuming furniture, floors, and stairways, as well as buffing, scrubbing, and refinishing floors. You will also be responsible for moving and arranging furniture and changing curtains and drapes.

In addition to your technical skills, you will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to promoting a culture that supports safety, ethical practices, and organizational health. You will also be required to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

About You

We are looking for a candidate who possesses the following qualifications and skills:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the job, including lifting and moving equipment
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

$19.26 - $20.02 Hourly
