About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our Seniors LINCS Team in the Western Zone. As a member of this team, you will play a vital role in providing Social Work services to community-based seniors, enhancing their independence and function at home. This is a full-scope practice position, where you will work independently to support the development and integration of seniors' health services within healthcare and the community.

You will provide collaborative, client-centered care across the continuum, supporting the psychosocial and emotional well-being of individuals, families, groups, populations, and communities. This role involves considerable collaboration within the team and with community partners, including supervising BSW practitioners, running Community of Practice meetings, and providing clinical supervision and case consultation.

The ideal candidate will possess a Master's of Social Work degree, be registered with the Nova Scotia Association of Social Workers and Canadian Association of Social Workers, and have a minimum of two years of clinical experience. Experience in Geriatric Care is preferred. Strong counselling and communication skills, as well as the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team context, are essential. Knowledge of issues related to family violence, sexual abuse, addictions, grief and loss, end of life, disability, crisis intervention, caregiving, and continuum of care is also required.

  • We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Social Worker who can work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • You will have a strong understanding of theoretical frameworks and approaches to practice, as well as the ability to apply them in a real-world setting.
  • Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset.
Hours and Compensation

This is a permanent full-time position, with 75 hours bi-weekly. The hourly rate is $37.31 - $49.05. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
