About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a member of our Seniors LINCS Team, you will play a vital role in providing Social Work services to community-based seniors, enhancing their independence and function at home.

The successful candidate will work to full scope of practice as an independent practitioner within the team, supporting the development and integration of seniors' health services within healthcare and the community. You will provide collaborative, client-centered care across the continuum, supporting the psychosocial and emotional well-being of all individuals.

This position involves considerable collaboration within the team and with community partners. You will work with Primary Health Care one day per week, supervising BSW practitioners, running Community of Practice meetings, providing clinical supervision, and case consultation weekly with Primary Health Care Social Workers.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with a Master's of Social Work degree, Certificate of Registration and Membership in the Nova Scotia Association of Social Workers and Canadian Association of Social Workers. A minimum of two years of clinical experience is required, with experience in Geriatric Care being an asset.

You will possess strong counselling and communication skills, with the capacity to achieve a high degree of autonomous practice. Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team context and knowledge of issues related to family violence, sexual abuse, addictions, grief and loss, end of life, disability, crisis intervention, caregiving, and continuum of care are essential.

Hours and Compensation

This is a Permanent Full-time position, with 75 hours bi-weekly. The hourly rate is $37.31 - $49.05. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
