Key Responsibilities

Daily Activities Overview

Design & Project Execution

Conduct technical evaluations and quality assurance for the Water and Wastewater engineering team. Support project oversight and assist in both preliminary and comprehensive designs for municipal and industrial water treatment facilities and pumping stations. Coordinate the activities of the design team, providing guidance to project members as necessary, including junior engineers and technical support personnel, while maintaining ongoing support for client relationship managers. Engage with both public and private sector clients, as well as government review and approval bodies, sub-consultants, and subcontractors. Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams, which may include transportation, municipal, and structural engineers, as well as environmental scientists and technical support staff.

Business Development Initiatives

Aid in sustaining existing client relationships and fostering new ones, including the preparation of project proposals. Travel to various Dillon offices as required.

Professional Growth & Development

Commit to ongoing personal development and professional learning. Contribute to the career advancement of junior staff through technical guidance, training, coaching, and mentoring. Enhance Dillon's corporate visibility by actively participating in professional associations and committees.

Required Qualifications

Essential Skills for Success

A degree in civil, mechanical, environmental, or chemical engineering. Licensed or eligible for licensure as a professional engineer in Ontario within six months. Ideally, 15+ years of relevant experience in the Canadian Water & Wastewater sector. References that can validate your technical and project leadership capabilities.

Relevant Experience

Demonstrated experience reflecting a clear advancement in responsibilities related to water & wastewater infrastructure design and project management for small to medium-scale municipal and industrial treatment facilities. Comprehensive understanding of business principles associated with consulting engineering. A strategic mindset that contributes to shaping our expanding business for long-term success. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential. Proven abilities in multidisciplinary project collaboration and coordination. Involvement in corporate business planning, including staffing, growth strategies, and emerging technologies. Experienced across all phases of project development: conceptualization, preliminary and detailed design, construction support, commissioning, and operational assistance. Proficient in assessing and designing treatment processes and facility development. Familiarity with innovative technologies for water and wastewater treatment. Skilled in preparing project proposals and delivering presentations. Thorough knowledge of applicable Canadian federal and provincial regulations. Proven capabilities in multidisciplinary teamwork, client relations, and regulatory agency consultations. Ability to lead, mentor, and develop future leaders. A strong motivation for personal and professional advancement. Ambition to be part of a growing organization focused on technical excellence and superior client service.
