GHD is seeking a highly skilled Urban Water Modelling Specialist to join our Integrated Water Management Business Group in Ontario. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting our clients in the development of innovative water management solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement hydraulic models for wastewater and water distribution systems, ensuring compliance with design criteria.
- Prepare comprehensive modelling documentation, technical memoranda, and design reports to support project deliverables.
- Contribute to Infrastructure Planning Studies, including Master Plans, Basement Flooding, Inflow and Infiltration Studies, and other related projects.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior staff on water/wastewater models and methods, promoting knowledge sharing and capacity building.
- Support senior staff in client relationships, serving as a key contact for water/wastewater-related projects.
- Assist in proposal preparation, report writing, cost estimation, and drawing preparation to support business development and project delivery.
- Collaborate with Service Line Leaders and Project Managers to share knowledge, expertise, and resources, driving business growth and innovation.
- Degree in Civil/Water Resource Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (license is an asset).
- Minimum 5+ years' experience in conducting water resource modelling projects.
- Advanced capability and direct experience with industry-standard hydraulic/hydrologic tools/models, such as WaterCAD/WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, InfoWorks CS/ICM (1D and 2D), InfoSWMM, InfoWater, WaterGems.
- Understanding of 3D modeling and experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D is an asset.
- Knowledge of CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamic) modeling would be an asset.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Knowledge and experience with transient hydraulic analysis using Hammer software, and/or design would be considered an asset.
- Must hold a valid driver's license in Ontario and be willing to travel within Ontario and Canada as required.
