Coast Mental Health is seeking a skilled Community Mental Health Worker to join our team. As a key member of our Culinary Program, you will provide day-to-day support and advocacy services to participants, facilitating goal and exit plans to help them achieve their employment goals.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and facilitate PSR-based programs for individuals with mental health, physical health, substance use, and homelessness needs.
- Provide guidance and support to participants in their employment journey, ensuring their safety and welfare.
- Collaborate with the Culinary Program Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the program.
- Act as a champion of the program, promoting our services throughout the community.
- Diploma in Community Social Service or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Previous experience working in the hospitality and culinary industry.
- Recent, related experience of two years.
- Ability to provide or obtain necessary certifications, including First Aid + CPR and Ministry of Justice Criminal Record Clearance.
- Knowledge of mental health, health, employment, and housing issues, as well as local community resources.
- Demonstrated ability in crisis de-escalation skills applied in a team setting.
- Ability to work with individuals who are marginalized, underserved, and at risk of homelessness or homelessness.
- Understanding of a trauma-informed approach.
- Knowledge of psychosocial rehabilitation practices.
