The Catholic Independent Schools of the Nelson Diocese is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Educational Assistants to support our students and staff in the beautiful Okanagan and Kootenay regions of British Columbia.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide a warm and compassionate learning environment for students
  • Foster children's sense of well-being and promote feelings of belonging and inclusiveness
  • Be flexible to the changing needs of the children and programs
  • Work collaboratively with children, families, colleagues, and administration
  • Maintain a neat, orderly, and clean environment, including all activity areas
  • Have the ability to work under minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications:
  • First Aid Training Certificate is an asset
  • Commitment to Catholic Education
  • Identification with and participation in the life of a Catholic parish
  • Training specific to the role (Educational Assistant)
  • Successful Educational Assistant experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to foster a positive working relationship with students, families, colleagues, and administration
  • Ability to use discretion when dealing with confidential matters
  • Additional training in Applied Behavioral Analysis/Intervention, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and CPI are an asset
