Job Responsibilities

Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate the efficient coordination of inbound and outbound freight operations, including shuttle services for all customer orders and manufactured goods between carriers and consignment points.

  • Develop and verify daily load plans (considering cost and service) utilizing EFMS, Topex, or TMS systems, or Red PrairieRoute interactive, expedite requests, and ensure adherence to principal carrier selection.
  • Ensure carriers receive daily load tenders through 204, fax, or TMS equipment.
  • Manage appointment scheduling to meet customer delivery expectations.
  • Maintain regular communication with internal teams (transportation, customer support, operations) and external partners (carriers, client transportation, client customer service) to ensure alignment in objectives and expectations.
  • Coordinate carrier pickup schedules and provide daily shipment plans to distribution centers.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives that enhance financial performance and service quality, thereby increasing value for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Recognize compliance challenges and engage in the metric feedback process, proposing potential solutions or action plans to the Operations supervisor.
  • Oversee yard and shuttle service operations.

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • 0-3 years of experience in the logistics sector is necessary.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Proven organizational, decision-making, multitasking, and analytical abilities are required.
  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Fleet Routing Systems is advantageous.
  • Experience in multi-mode optimization is desirable.
  • Proficiency in Advanced Excel/Access is preferred.
  • Understanding of freight rates and carrier cost structures is beneficial.
