The Specialty Gases Specialist plays a crucial role in driving sales and fostering relationships with key clients. This position requires a proactive approach to maintain and expand our market presence in the specialty gases sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain and enhance sales relationships with key accounts.
  2. Identify and secure new business opportunities within both existing and potential accounts.
  3. Support the General Sales Team through effective communication and collaborative sales efforts.
  4. Analyze market trends and customer needs to identify new opportunities and respond to competitive pressures.
  5. Adhere to Messer's pricing strategies while developing a comprehensive pricing management system.
  6. Monitor market pricing intelligence and customer pricing requirements to inform internal pricing and product strategies.
  7. Gain insights into competitors' capabilities, market shares, and strategic initiatives.
  8. Create tailored service selling programs to improve our offerings in key accounts.
  9. Ensure all sales activities prioritize the safety and environmental standards of Messer and its clientele.
  10. Collaborate with the Canadian marketing team on new initiatives as necessary.
  11. Achieve and surpass sales objectives across all Specialty Markets, including Scientific, Packaged Chemicals, and Medical sectors.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience.
  2. A minimum of three years of experience in selling specialty gases and related equipment, preferably within an industrial or specialty gas environment.
  3. A background in Chemical or Engineering disciplines is preferred.
  4. Outstanding presentation and communication abilities.
  5. Strong time management and team collaboration skills.
  6. Proficient analytical skills.
  7. Willingness to travel as required.
