About Your Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate software engineer to join our team at Tigera, Inc. in the exciting field of cloud-native application security. Our company is at the forefront of developing open-source networking and security projects that define the new standard for application connectivity within large-scale cloud environments, such as Kubernetes, Docker, and related technologies.

As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for enhancing and building new functionality in Golang, working closely with the team to design, code, test, and release features to production. You will be an active participant in release sprints, collaborating with colleagues to drive innovation and excellence in our products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and test new features and functionality in Golang
  • Collaborate with the team to drive innovation and excellence in our products
  • Participate in release sprints and contribute to the development process
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure seamless integration and deployment of features

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in product-oriented software engineering
  • Experience with distributed systems development and backend development languages like Golang, C, C++, Java, NodeJs, Python, etc.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native technologies, including Kubernetes, Docker, and related tools
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative and agile development environment
  • BS in CS or related degree (equivalent experience may suffice)

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience with vulnerability scanning and management tools
  • Knowledge of security posture management, especially within Kubernetes
  • Experience with configuration security tools such as Kubescape
  • Experience with one or more of the following areas and technologies: Kubernetes, Docker/containers, Networking
  • Experience developing, securing, or operating cloud-scale applications or infrastructure
  • Ability to travel occasionally to attend conferences and work with partners, customers, and colleagues in other offices
