About the Role

WB Games Montreal Inc is seeking a skilled Gameplay Programmer to join our team and contribute to the development of our upcoming game. As a Gameplay Programmer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing gameplay mechanics, working closely with designers, artists, and other developers to create an engaging and immersive gaming experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement gameplay mechanics, including character movement, collision detection, and physics.
  • Collaborate with designers and artists to create engaging and interactive gameplay experiences.
  • Work with the development team to identify and prioritize gameplay features and bug fixes.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality code, following best practices and coding standards.
  • Contribute to the development of tools and scripts to support gameplay development.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in gameplay programming, preferably in a AAA game development environment.
  • Strong understanding of game development principles, including gameplay mechanics, level design, and user experience.
  • Proficiency in C++ programming language and experience with game engines such as Unreal Engine or Unity.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with gameplay scripting languages such as Lua or Python.
  • Knowledge of game development tools and software, including 3D modeling and animation software.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems such as Git.
