Community Director Opportunity

The Jewish Federation seeks a highly motivated and experienced Community Director to lead our Lower Mainland youth portfolio. This key role will focus on unifying and integrating teen engagement efforts in the region, providing support to our partner congregations and enhancing their missions and core values.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement inclusive teen engagement strategies, including USY initiatives, to increase participation and membership numbers.
  • Build relationships with local professionals, congregations, and Jewish organizations to foster partnerships and opportunities for growth.
  • Lead and assist in chapter, multi-chapter, and city-wide events, promoting and recruiting for Lower Mainland USY programs.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor teen leaders to take active roles within the USY community, empowering them to take ownership of programming events.
  • Stay current on issues and emerging trends impacting Jewish teens, integrating this knowledge into leadership development opportunities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Jewish Education, Jewish Studies, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience, with a passion for USY's mission and commitment to empowering Jewish teens.
  • Significant knowledge of youth development, teen issues, and emerging trends, as well as experience in immersive Jewish education.
  • Strong understanding of Jewish youth culture and experience, with knowledge of Jewish traditions and a demonstrated commitment to Conservative Judaism.
  • Excellent relationship-building, leadership, and facilitation skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
What We Offer
  • A competitive salary range of $48,000 - $53,000 CAD, with extended medical and dental coverage.
