Position Overview:

The Royal Ontario Museum is seeking a dedicated professional to take on the role of Pension & Benefits Specialist. This position is essential for the effective management of the Museum's pension and benefits offerings, ensuring a high standard of service and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pension Administration: Oversee member enrollments, manage retirement processes, and handle employment status changes. Ensure accurate tracking of plan membership and maintain up-to-date records with the pension plan custodian.
  • Annual Calculations: Perform annual Pension Adjustment calculations and assist in the preparation of financial statements for audits.
  • Benefits Administration: Administer group benefits, including health, dental, and life insurance. Ensure timely updates and accurate calculations of benefit deductions.
  • Staff Support: Provide assistance to employees regarding benefits inquiries and facilitate changes to their coverage as necessary.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements within the department and support special projects as required.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • At least five years of experience in pension and benefits administration.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.

Work Environment:
