Boarding Student Support SpecialistAs a Boarding Student Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in creating a positive and enriching experience for our residential students. You will work collaboratively with a dedicated team to ensure the well-being and success of each student.
Responsibilities:- Provide attentive supervision during breakfast hours, ensuring students are prepared for their day and residences are in order.
- Contribute to a safe and secure environment by covering evening, overnight, and weekend shifts on a rotating basis.
- Serve as a point of contact for students, parents, and faculty, facilitating clear communication and addressing concerns promptly.
- Cultivate a sense of community by organizing engaging evening programs and weekend activities that promote student interaction and personal development.
- Act as a mentor and guide to a designated group of students, providing support and encouragement in their academic and personal pursuits.
- Collaborate with the boarding team to maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming living environment for our students.
- Assist with student academic progress by offering study support in various subject areas as needed.
- Work closely with the Health Centre staff to ensure the well-being of students requiring medical attention.
- Contribute to the school's co-curricular program by coaching or leading clubs, fostering student involvement and extracurricular growth.
We seek a compassionate and dedicated individual with:
- A university degree.
- Experience working with adolescents in a residential setting is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Initiative, leadership qualities, and a commitment to creating a supportive and nurturing environment.
- First Aid and CPR/AED certification is required.
- A valid driver's license is an asset.
