About Mon Sheong Foundation: As a leading provider of long-term care services, Mon Sheong Foundation is committed to delivering high-quality care to our residents.
Position Summary:
As a Dietary Aide, you will report to the Manager of Nutrition and Dietary Services. Your main responsibility will be preparing and serving food to the residents while maintaining the highest standards of food production, cleanliness, and sanitation.
Main Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve meals to residents in a timely and efficient manner
- Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment and facilities
- Monitor and report low food or supply inventory to the Supervisor/Cook
- Store and check food and supplies in designated areas to ensure proper inventory management
- Prepare food for residents with different dietary needs and restrictions
- Ensure that food is served at the correct temperature and portion sizes
- Identify and report any safety hazards or concerns to the Supervisor/Cook
- Clean and maintain the dining room and kitchen equipment
- Follow the daily cleaning schedule to ensure a clean and safe environment
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager of Nutrition and Dietary Services
Requirements:
- Food handler certificate or equivalent
- Experience in food service or a related field
- Students who have completed a food handler training program may also apply
- Experience working in long-term care or healthcare settings is an asset
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Bilingual in Chinese is an asset
- Able to lift and push/pull heavy objects
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform repeated bending
