About the Role
The Division Manager will be responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating the short and medium-term corporate and operational goals and activities of the Ashcroft Division. This individual will manage all aspects, activities, and resources (people and equipment) of the Division to meet customer commitments and financial goals while ensuring regulatory and legal compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement annual Divisional strategic plans and budgets to maximize productivity and minimize costs.
- Ensure the Division is financially successful while maintaining a strong focus on safety, regulatory, and legal compliance.
- Manage local operations to provide high-quality customer service at the lowest possible cost.
- Optimize the use of Divisional assets to achieve maximum productivity.
- Oversee Division maintenance to ensure compliance with company, industry, and government regulations and standards.
- Develop and implement human resource plans to ensure effective utilization of Divisional staff.
- Ensure Divisional processes are conducted in accordance with Operations Excellence, company, and Divisional Standard Operating Procedures.
- Build and lead a team of motivated, efficient, and productive employees through strong leadership, coaching, and direction.
- Provide employee-sensitive, considerate, and courteous leadership to maintain a relationship of mutual trust and support.
- Oversee the company's safety policies and programs, ensuring full compliance and leading by example.
- Cultivate and maintain productive relationships with Arrow's customers and the local community.
- Comply with all rules, regulations, protocols, and established metrics.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of proven success and experience in a similar managerial capacity.
- Preference for post-secondary education in Business, Operations, Logistics, or a related field.
- Preference for trucking industry experience.
- Strong capacity for strategic thinking.
- Strong safety management mindset and experience.
- Demonstrates strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Excellent teamwork and team-building skills.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
- Strong analytical and financial skills.
- Ability to lead by example.
- Extensive understanding of account and customer service management.
- Computer literate, including effective skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to adapt to and quickly learn new software.
- Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines.
- Mechanical inclination is an asset.
