The New Brunswick Community College (NBCC), in partnership with the Collège communautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick (CCNB) and WorkingNB, is in search of skilled Instructors to deliver Workplace Essential Skills (WES) training to adults across New Brunswick.

Positions are available in various locations, providing flexible hours ranging from 4 to 36.25 hours per week, accommodating those interested in full-time opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Business Development Manager, the primary focus of this role is to facilitate and deliver the classroom components of the Workplace Essential Skills (WES) program aimed at unemployed or underemployed individuals. Training may be conducted in-person or through virtual platforms. The goal of this initiative is to enhance participants' essential skills to align better with job opportunities in diverse sectors. The competencies to be addressed include:

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • A Diploma or Degree in a relevant field along with pertinent experience.
  • Familiarity with WES methodology and competency/task-based learning, as well as inclusive educational approaches.
  • Understanding of employability skills, essential skills, and workplace training.
  • Experience working with unemployed or underemployed individuals.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Professional Skills:

  • Excellent public speaking and presentation abilities.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Skills in group facilitation and individualized instruction.
  • Proven ability to coordinate team activities.
  • Flexibility to manage multiple responsibilities and adapt to evolving situations.
  • Analytical skills for needs assessment, problem-solving, and making informed recommendations.
  • Ability to act decisively, demonstrate initiative, and exercise sound judgment across various issues.
  • Critical thinking and creative problem-solving capabilities, with an emphasis on independence and adaptability.
  • Language proficiency in English, French, or bilingualism is preferred.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with experience in post-secondary education.
