About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Team Leader to join our team at Lake Country Co-op. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, leading a team of gas bar clerks, and ensuring the smooth operation of our C-Store and Gas Bar.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legendary service to customers through various communication channels
  • Lead a culture of safety and maximize operational efficiency
  • Assist with effectively managing the development and direction of reporting team members
  • Oversee sales, margins, expenses, inventory, and sales for the department
  • Provide training to gas bar clerks for all store duties and opening/closing procedures
  • Be familiar with and adhere to Lake Country Co-op policies and government regulations
  • Complete daily reports, including cash up and reconciliations
  • Support and follow Asset Protection and Safety Management systems
  • Assist with maintaining image and brand standards
  • Perform minor repairs to assets as required
Requirements
  • Grade 12 or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of retail sales experience in a supervisory role, preferably in the Co-operative Retailing System (CRS)
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Honest and trustworthy, results-orientated, and strives to be the best
  • Experience with C-Store/Gas Bar operations and general merchandise items
  • Attentive to detail and strong cash management skills
  • Willing to obtain propane dispenser and WHMIS certifications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, effective planner, and superb time management skills
  • Point of Sale experience and ability to work in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment
  • Available for day travel within the Lake Country Co-op trading area
  • Valid Class 5 license and reliable vehicle for daily trips
  • Ability to fulfill physical job requirements and manual labor
  • Flexible work schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
