Assistant Team Leader

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as an Assistant Team Leader. In this role, you will be responsible for providing legendary service to our customers, leading a culture of safety, and maximizing operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service through various communication channels
- Lead a culture of safety and maximize operational efficiency
- Assist with effectively managing the development and direction of the reporting team members
- Assist in overseeing the sales, margins, expenses, inventory, and sales for the department
- Provide training to gas bar clerks for all store duties and for opening and closing procedures
- Be familiar with and adhere to Lake Country Co-op policies and government regulations
- Complete all necessary daily reports as required
- Support and follow the Asset Protection and Safety Management systems
- Assist with ensuring the department is displaying, stocking, and rotating merchandise as per company policy
- Perform minor repairs to assets as required
Requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of retail sales experience in a supervisory role, preferably in the Co-operative Retailing System
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Honest and trustworthy, results-orientated, and strives to be the best
- Experience with C-Store/Gas Bar operations and general merchandise items
- Attentive to detail and strong cash management skills
- Ability to obtain propane dispenser and WHMIS certifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, effective planner, and superb time management skills
- Point of Sale experience and ability to work in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment
- Valid Class 5 license and reliable vehicle for daily trips
