Job Title: University Librarian and Dean

The University of Saskatchewan is seeking a visionary leader to serve as its University Librarian and Dean. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of the University Library and contribute to the institution's mission of excellence in research, scholarly and artistic works.

About the Role:

  • Reporting to the Provost and Vice-President Academic, the University Librarian and Dean plays a central role in setting strategy and overall direction for the University Library.
  • Advise the President, the Provost, and other Vice Presidents on matters related to the University Library.
  • Collaborate with and support other leaders to achieve university goals.
  • Align the University Library with university priorities.
  • Model institutional values and competencies.

The University Library is a critical component of the University of Saskatchewan's academic infrastructure, providing essential resources and services to students and researchers. With six locations across campus, the Library operates in a dynamic environment where its services and resources are multi-faceted, technologically rich, and continuously changing.

Requirements:

  • Leadership experience in a higher education or research institution.
  • Strong understanding of academic libraries and their role in supporting research and teaching.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
