About the Role

This is a senior-level position that requires a high degree of technical expertise and leadership skills. As a Senior ServiceNow Developer Lead, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of ServiceNow solutions across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and leadership to the development team, ensuring that ServiceNow solutions are designed and implemented in accordance with Scotiabank's technical standards and architecture.
  • Solution Development: Develop and configure ServiceNow solutions, including workflows, integrations, scripts, and UIs, to meet business requirements.
  • Vendor Governance: Ensure that vendor requirements, solutions, and code are aligned with Scotiabank's Service Management Technology design principles, Scotiabank Reference Architecture, and SMT Coding standards.
  • Project Management: Provide effort estimates, timing recommendations, and technical leadership for projects in their domain, and oversee vendor work.
  • Collaboration: Engage with architecture to design great solutions, ensure technical documentation is maintained, and coordinate with other labs and their domain leads to ensure dependencies are considered and resolved.
  • Support and Maintenance: Coordinate L2/L3 support and support for platform upgrades as relates to their applications/modules/components, and engage in and lead any incident management related to their space.
  • Expertise and Innovation: Develop and maintain deep expertise on their functional area, both in terms of policy (e.g., ITIL) and tooling (ServiceNow certifications), and provide their product owner with insights for useful new features.
  • Technical Debt Reduction: Work to aggressively eliminate technical debt in the Scotia ServiceNow platform, and build solutions that minimize customization and optimize for speed and optimal user experience.
  • Risk Management: Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Team Leadership: Create an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.
  • People Management: Build a high-performance environment and implement a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviors, communicating vision/values/business strategy, and managing succession and development planning for the team.
Requirements
  • Education: Computer Science Diploma or Degree; or related work experience, excellent JavaScript skills.
  • Certifications: ITIL Foundation certification or training, ServiceNow Advanced System Administrator certified, ServiceNow Scripting certification a plus.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of ServiceNow Experience within modules/applications (and ServiceNow in general), 3-5 years' experience and hands-on development in general module configuration on the ServiceNow Platform.
  • Skills: Strong partnership and collaboration skills, an interest in leading people, and in developing coaching skills.
