Director, People - Business Partnering

This role is a key part of our national People team, responsible for developing and implementing people and culture strategies that align with the university's mission, values, and goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with academic and business leaders to define, develop, and implement people and culture strategies that support the university's mission and goals.
  • Collaborate with leaders to understand their hiring needs, identify diverse talent, and develop strategies for recruitment and retention.
  • Develop initiatives to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction, leveraging data from engagement surveys, exit interviews, and turnover reports.
  • Ensure People practices in hiring, performance evaluation, and compensation support a diverse, inclusive, collaborative organizational culture and comply with regional and national labour laws and regulations.
  • Coach and advise leaders on best practices in performance management that enable a high-performance and highly engaged workforce.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as an HR business partner, with a strong track record of developing and implementing people and culture strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with academic and business leaders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and develop insights that inform business decisions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
