Senior Surveyor

About the Role

B2Gold is a leading international gold producer seeking a highly skilled Senior Surveyor to join our team in Nunavut, Canada. As a key member of our Open Pit Survey team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and precision of our surveying operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior surveyors and civil earthworks supervisors to scope daily work assignments and ensure efficient project execution.
• Provide high-quality cut and fill stakes for earthworks activities, ensuring accurate and reliable data.
• Conduct daily as-built surveys to maintain up-to-date surface data, supporting informed decision-making.
• Perform weekly and monthly as-built surveys for volume tracking, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance.
• Carry out weekly prism monitoring using a total station to detect any movement, and install prisms or other monitoring devices as necessary.
• Ensure required instruments are taken according to scheduled readings, maintaining a high level of accuracy and precision.
• Compute as-built and design surfaces for volumetric reporting, providing valuable insights for project optimization.
• Maintain organized files within the controller and PC, ensuring seamless data management and accessibility.
• Support the Open Pit Survey team in achieving project goals and objectives.

Requirements and Qualifications

• 6 years of experience in surveying in open pit mining, with a strong understanding of geomatics principles and practices.
• Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Mine Engineering, or a related field, with a strong academic record.
• Proficiency in using surveying instruments (Trimble controller and Total Station) and related software (AutoCAD, Deswick).
• Advanced RPAS Pilot's License is required, with experience in DJI and TBC considered an asset.
