Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Assistant II to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a Medical Laboratory Assistant II, you will play a critical role in supporting our laboratory operations and ensuring the highest quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and process laboratory samples from patients, ensuring accurate and timely results.
  • Prepare laboratory samples for analysis, adhering to strict quality control protocols.
  • Perform routine laboratory tests, such as urinalysis, under the supervision of a qualified laboratory professional.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory operations and patient care.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of a recognized laboratory assistant training program.
  • One year of recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
