Maintenance Engineer III

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Engineer III to join our team at Bisha Hotel Toronto. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing general repairs and maintenance work, providing assistance to senior engineers, and responding to maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general repairs and maintenance work, including plumbing, heating/boiler, electrical, refrigeration, air conditioning, fire safety, sprinkler, lighting, and communication systems.
- Assist senior engineers with maintenance and repair tasks, and respond to maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner.
- Review and complete daily complaint log, and communicate status of maintenance requests to dispatcher.
- Perform minor set-ups for hotel functions, and expedite light bulb replacement program.
- Maintain and stock supplies and tools in storerooms on floors, and assist guests with any requests.
- Clean engineering shop, and follow up on all maintenance requests as directed by Chief Engineer or supervisor.
- Communicate daily with Chief Engineer or supervisor on status of maintenance/repair assignments, and ensure that hotel's building systems are operating safely, economically, and efficiently.
- Follow proper hotel standards while engaging in repairs in occupied guest rooms or guest areas, and assist Chief Engineer in ensuring that all hotel systems meet standards established by local, state, and federal regulating agencies.
- Inform Chief Engineer of any repair problems that may arise during shift, and have basic knowledge of hotel's plumbing, heating/boiler, electrical, refrigeration, air conditioning, fire safety, sprinkler, lighting, and communication systems.
- Assist Chief Engineer in floor/room inspections, and help monitor energy consumption and waste.
- Maintain equipment and supplies, use tools safely and correctly, and check clipboard and daily assignment sheet for job assignments.
- Completely familiar with Hotel Emergency procedures, and able to respond quickly and accurately during an actual emergency, to notify all appropriate personnel.
- Notify immediate supervisors promptly and fully of all problems or unusual matters of significance, and be polite, friendly, and helpful to guests, management, and fellow employees.
- Attend all appropriate hotel meetings and training sessions, and maintain cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment, and work area.
- Execute emergency procedures in accordance with hotel standards, comply with safety regulations and procedures, and comply with hotel policies and rules.
- Recycle whenever possible, remain current with hotel information and changes, and comply with hotel uniform and grooming standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma preferred, and minimum of two years previous experience working in general maintenance required.
- Courses in engineering/maintenance preferred, and must have English skills (read, write, and speak).
- Familiarity with basic tools and equipment, electrical, a/c pumps required, and must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Must be customer-service orientated and have excellent hospitality skills, and be flexible to work any shift, including weekends and holidays.
