Occupational Therapist I

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at the Halvar Jonson Centre for Brain Injury. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing evidence-informed services to individuals with acquired brain injury.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, and implement client-centered treatment programs for patients with acquired brain injury.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive services, including triage, screening, consultation, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Provide direct service, consultation, education, and advocacy to individuals, groups, and communities.
- Support clients to achieve optimum functional abilities and independence related to their cognitive, affective, spiritual, and physical strengths and limitations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
- Completion of a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program.
- Registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
- Previous experience with stroke and brain-injured patients is desired, but newly graduated occupational therapists are welcome to apply.
- CPR certification (BLS for Health Care Providers Level C).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Three years' clinical experience in rehabilitation services using a client-centered approach.
This is a physically demanding position that requires the ability to physically assist patients in a variety of functional tasks. Complex moderate to severe brain-injured patients may be very dependent on care at times.
