Welder Fabricator

At West Coast Reduction Ltd., we're committed to transforming waste into valuable resources. As a Welder Fabricator, you'll play a crucial role in our mission by fabricating and welding various materials, including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, adjust, and dismantle welding equipment as needed
  • Operate welding equipment and tools in a safe and efficient manner
  • Bend and weld materials such as steel, aluminum, and stainless steel
  • Weld and fabricate plant equipment and fleet equipment, as instructed
  • Assist with the maintenance of all machinery and equipment, including preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, making modifications, and fabrication
  • Safely operate mobile equipment and hoisting devices when necessary
  • Maintain a clean, tidy work site, including daily housekeeping of shop areas
  • Mentor Apprentices through their professional development
  • Perform shift work based on company business needs
  • Work overtime as instructed to ensure minimal downtime of facilities
  • Adhere to the company Code of Conduct and all West Coast Reduction Ltd. policies
  • Foster a positive team and company culture by ensuring treatment of others is respectful and aligned with company values

Requirements:

  • Possession of a valid Alberta Journeyperson Welder Certificate or interprovincial Welder Red Seal Certification
  • 2-3 years of welding experience in a similar environment or industry preferred
  • Hold a valid "B" pressure certificate would be an asset
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, with strong communication skills
  • Ability to read or interpret diagrams, schematic drawings, and manuals to determine work procedures
  • Computer literate with experience utilizing CMMS software
  • Ability to frequently move, carry, lift, push, and pull equipment up to 50 lbs without assistance and occasionally greater with assistance
  • Perform repetitive motions, including bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and reaching overhead above the shoulders daily
  • Adaptable to adverse conditions, including confined space, heights, weather, odors, and animal by-products
