Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and repairing metal parts and products using various welding techniques and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret welding process specifications and operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment
  • Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals, and processes
  • Examine welds and ensure they meet standards and/or specifications
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment and brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines
  • Fabricate or repair metal parts and products using oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air), (AOC)
  • Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment
Requirements
  • Welder Trade Red Seal Certificate
  • Forklift Operator Certification
  • Apprenticeship training (Level 1, 2, or 3)
  • Experience with aluminum alloys, stainless steel, steel, iron, and heavy metals
  • Knowledge of gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), and flux core arc welding (FCAW)
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with dusty, hot, noisy, and dirty conditions. They will be required to stand for extended periods and handle heavy loads up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
