We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Mandarin teacher to join our team at St. Francis Xavier Catholic School. As a Grade 3 educator, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our students and contribute to their academic and personal growth.

About the Role

This is a part-time position, requiring 11 hours of work from Tuesday to Friday. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to the Catholic faith and demonstrate competency in the Chinese language. We are looking for someone with experience teaching Mandarin in a primary setting, effective classroom management, and the ability to work with students of varying abilities and needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Mandarin language and culture to Grade 3 students
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment
Requirements
  • Completion of a Bachelor of Education
  • Successful teaching practicum and/or experience in a Mandarin Bilingual classroom
  • Native or native-like fluency in both oral and written traditional Mandarin
  • Native or native-like fluency in English
  • Membership in or eligible to become a member of the Teacher Regulation Branch
