Senior Civil Structural Engineer

At FNX-INNOV, we are a multidisciplinary engineering company with a strong focus on innovation and creativity. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Structural Engineer to join our team in Mississauga.
About the RoleAs a Senior Civil Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of civil and structural engineering projects, including electrical transmission and distribution substation projects. You will work closely with our technical staff to ensure that all projects meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design and development of civil and structural engineering projects
- Collaborate with technical staff to ensure project quality and safety
- Supervise and develop junior/intermediate engineers and technicians
- Participate in customer relations, inspections, and site interventions
- Design feasibility and detail engineering plans for electrical infrastructure
- Analysis and design of electrical substation buildings
- Perform interventions in terms of surface and underground work
- Follow up on the preparation of civil engineering plans and specifications
- Design structural steel and concrete drawings according to 3D analysis and design codes
- Supervise CAD technicians in the preparation of drawings
- Supervise structural inspectors in the preparation of inspection reports and repair designs
- Prepare specifications for buildings, foundations, and structural work
- Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or equivalent
- Minimum ten (10) years of professional experience in civil structural engineering
- Member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario
- Experience in energy sector's infrastructure, structures, and buildings
- Familiar with building codes and major design codes and standards
- Proficiency with structural engineering software and computer-aided design (CAD) software
- Working knowledge of Revit and BIM software
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
- Effective organizational and report writing skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills, good sense of priorities, and attention to details
