Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer (CMO), the Director will spearhead the formation of a dynamic communications team that effectively promotes the firm's brand to various stakeholders, including employees, the market, media, and the community.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about developing a comprehensive multi-year communications strategy that aligns with the firm's core priorities: Culture, Revenue & Profitability, and Talent Agenda.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead a team of six media and communications professionals, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Design and implement a robust communications strategy that articulates the firm's narrative and distinguishes its unique attributes.
• Craft tailored messages and select appropriate channels to engage diverse internal and external audiences.
• Collaborate with the People and Development team to establish an internal communications framework that motivates and informs employees throughout their journey.
• Provide strategic advice on reputational matters and market insights, ensuring the firm is well-represented in key discussions.
• Oversee executive communications, including high-profile speaking engagements and interviews.
• Build and nurture a high-performing national communications team, focusing on structure, skill development, and professional growth.
• Develop crisis communication strategies and management plans, ensuring readiness to address potential issues.
• Work alongside Marketing to ensure a unified voice across all communications channels.
• Create and execute a social media strategy that enhances the firm's brand visibility among clients and potential recruits.
• Innovate and experiment with new communication techniques to improve effectiveness.
• Measure and report on the impact of communications efforts, assessing metrics such as employee engagement and media presence.
• Collaborate with global and regional contacts to maintain message consistency and share best practices.
• Formulate a strategic vision that aligns with the firm's overarching goals and priorities.
• Ensure proactive and interconnected strategies that resonate with various audiences.
• Assess team talent and provide leadership to enhance engagement and performance.
• Modernize the communications function by leveraging multimedia approaches.
• Position communications as a key advisory function within the firm, providing actionable recommendations to leadership.

Qualifications:
• Over 15 years of relevant experience in executive and corporate communications, preferably in a leadership capacity within professional services.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and French is essential.
• Proven strategic thinker with expertise in employee engagement, media relations, and crisis management.
• Exceptional business acumen, capable of advising senior leadership on complex communication issues.
• Strong writing and presentation skills, with a history of successfully guiding executive communication strategies.
• Demonstrated experience in managing crises and developing impactful communication strategies.
