Coupa Risk Assessment Platform Lead
The Coupa Risk Assessment Platform Lead will oversee the support, guidance, and upkeep of the Coupa Risk Assessment tool within supplier onboarding and various operational processes. The individual will drive the creation of business cases, research new features and product releases, configure the local Coupa Risk Assessment instance, and integrate innovations into our procurement systems while providing ongoing support during hypercare and beyond.

This role encompasses management of Coupa Risk Assessment and the Coupa Supplier Information Management process, integrated with SAP, Mincom Ellipse, and other ERP systems, along with complementary systems such as Boomi and PowerBI. The incumbent will collaborate closely with colleagues focused on requirements such as audits, monitoring, reporting, and continuous assessment of our systems and processes.

The successful candidate will serve as a technical and subject matter expert for the Coupa Risk Assessment environment and procurement standards, offering technical support to various sites and businesses as necessary. They will work in tandem with Coupa Regional Business Analysts to drive initiatives and solutions while facilitating training and support globally.

This position demands a unique skill set, requiring a functional and/or technical background in S2P functionality or relevant ERP systems, along with practical experience and familiarity with operational models across multiple sites. The Coupa Risk Assessment Platform Lead will possess strong project management and communication skills, adept at translating complex technical issues into clear messages for diverse audiences. The individual will also be an experienced facilitator, guiding stakeholders toward collective understanding and action, and will have experience in delivering training and creating training materials.

Reporting Structure:

This role will report to the Coupa Global Process Owner and will maintain a close working relationship with the Metals, Mineral, and Coal Compliance and Responsible Sourcing Teams, as well as the Regional Middleware Lead and other Regional Support teams (e.g., ERP, infrastructure, reporting). The incumbent will manage third-party service provider resources, ensuring consistent and efficient service delivery to the organization.

The incumbent will work closely with ERP support teams to ensure that initiatives from both teams are complementary and well-timed.

Specific to Coupa:

The Coupa Risk Assessment Platform Lead will participate in the organization's Coupa Change Control Board and act as the regional representative in the Coupa Community across various business units. The role includes responsibility for the ongoing maintenance, development, and training on new releases and features of the Coupa Risk Assessment platform, ensuring alignment with the Coupa Supplier Information Management Module and functional design within the organization. The incumbent will provide change management services to the business, ensuring regional requirements are prioritized and that the impacts of new features and changes from the Coupa quarterly release cycle are effectively communicated and implemented.

The Coupa Risk Assessment Platform Lead will also be responsible for maintaining system-level compliance controls across both Coupa P2P and CRA, collaborating closely with the Compliance Team and Regional Compliance Officers. The candidate will manage and implement corporate requirements that can be facilitated through the Coupa Risk Assessment platform, ensuring it is continuously developed and maintained in line with other procurement platforms.

The incumbent will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Coupa platform and is expected to develop a high level of competency in both the Coupa platform and the CRA module. They may also support the development of business cases for other sites and business units as needed. The Regional Business Analyst will assist the Coupa Risk Assessment Platform Lead to ensure continuity of service.

Key Responsibilities:

Governance:

  • Represent the needs of various business units in the region, communicating with the Coupa Change Control Board regarding priorities, issues, and changing requirements related to supplier onboarding.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations (ISO, Health, Safety, Financial Audits, etc.).
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to maintain compliance with supplier and procurement standards.
  • Engage with stakeholders in the field to support product improvements, user engagement, and training needs.
Performance:
  • Continuously monitor the supplier onboarding process cycle time.
  • Ensure the correct application of Coupa Risk Assessment processes.
  • Optimize supplier onboarding steps to minimize cycle times.
Project Management:
  • Manage CRA implementation at various sites.
  • Lead project kick-offs and management.
  • Demonstrate CRA to site teams.
  • Gather requirements for unique needs in new regions.
  • Facilitate CRA testing within new projects.
  • Support the hyper-care stage for both technical and programmatic needs.
  • Coordinate closely with Coupa Procurement implementation projects.
Change / Release Management:
  • Lead internal communications regarding the Coupa Risk Assessment solution, including rollouts and enhancements.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to assess the impact of proposed changes on the application.
  • Analyze and mitigate risks from the Coupa quarterly release program.
  • Identify and manage new business requirements that affect the current Coupa deployment.
  • Maintain functional design documentation in line with system changes.
  • Ensure functional design aligns with financial and procurement controls.
  • Document and resolve issues arising from Coupa outputs.
  • Participate in training to enhance business process knowledge.
Supplier Management:
  • Ensure supplier screening strategies meet business needs and industry best practices.
  • Maintain supplier data quality according to content strategy and standards.
  • Inform local teams of new features and data management opportunities.
Supplier Risk Management:
  • Configure Coupa Risk Assessment to meet corporate requirements.
  • Support Vendor Management teams to ensure timely supplier onboarding.
  • Assist in developing and administering workflow changes and new screening programs.
  • Audit supplier onboarding forms for compliance.
  • Monitor approval flows and process steps in supplier onboarding.
Requirements:
  • A degree or diploma in Business or Information Technology with at least 5 years of experience in an S2P environment.
  • A thorough understanding of the Coupa Source to Pay Platform and associated ERPs.
  • Familiarity with Systems Analytics and Reporting tools such as Power BI.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills with a focus on interpersonal and team-building abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Fluency in English and one local regional language is required.
  • Willingness to travel to various sites as needed.
