Coupa Risk Assessment Platform Lead
The Coupa Risk Assessment Platform Lead will oversee the support, guidance, and upkeep of the Coupa Risk Assessment system utilized in supplier onboarding and various business operations. The individual will assist in the formulation of business cases, perform research on new updates and functionalities, configure the local Coupa Risk Assessment instance, and integrate innovations into our standard procurement systems while providing ongoing support through hypercare and beyond. The responsibilities will encompass Coupa Risk Assessment, along with the Coupa Supplier Information Management process linked to various ERP systems, and other supporting systems such as Boomi and PowerBI.

This role is pivotal within the organization, acting as a technical and subject matter expert for the Coupa Risk Assessment environment and procurement standards, delivering technical assistance to different sites and business units as required. Collaboration with Coupa Regional Business Analysts will be essential to drive initiatives and solutions across the landscape, as well as to facilitate training and support globally.

This challenging position demands a unique skill set. The ideal candidate will possess a functional and/or technical background in Source-to-Pay (S2P) functionality or relevant ERP systems, along with practical experience and familiarity with operational models across various sites. The Coupa Risk Assessment Platform Lead will demonstrate strong project management and communication skills, capable of translating complex technical issues into clear, understandable formats for diverse audiences. Additionally, the individual will be an adept facilitator with experience guiding various stakeholders towards collective learning and actionable standards, along with a background in developing training materials and guides.

Reporting Structure:

This position will report to the Coupa Global Process Owner and will maintain a close working relationship with the Metals, Minerals, and Coal Compliance and Responsible Sourcing Teams, as well as the Regional Middleware Lead and other support teams (e.g., ERP, infrastructure, reporting). The role will also involve managing third-party service provider resources to ensure consistent and efficient service delivery to the organization.

The incumbent will collaborate closely with ERP support teams to ensure that initiatives from both teams are synchronized and timely.

Specific to Coupa:

The Coupa Risk Assessment Platform Lead will participate in the organization's Coupa Change Control Board and serve as the regional representative in the Coupa Community across various business units. The role will entail ongoing maintenance, development, and training on new releases and features of the Coupa Risk Assessment platform, as well as contributing to the Coupa Supplier Information Management Module and aligning requirements with the Global team to ensure the platform supports the evolving business needs. The incumbent will proactively manage change requests, ensuring regional requirements are prioritized and that the impact of new features from the Coupa quarterly release cycle is effectively communicated and implemented to maximize benefits and minimize risks.

The Coupa Risk Assessment Platform Lead will also be responsible for supporting the development and maintenance of system-level compliance controls across both Coupa P2P and Risk Assessment, collaborating closely with the Compliance Team and Regional Compliance Officers. The candidate will manage and implement any requirements from the Corporate office that can be facilitated through the Coupa Risk Assessment platform, ensuring it is well-maintained and continuously developed to align with other procurement platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Governance:

  • Represent the needs of various business units in the region, communicating with the Coupa Change Control Board regarding priorities, issues, and changing requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations (ISO, Health, Safety, Financial Audits, etc.).
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to maintain compliance with supplier and procurement standards through regular reviews and audits.
  • Engage with stakeholders in the field to support product improvements, user engagement, and training.
Performance:
  • Continuously monitor the cycle time of the supplier onboarding process.
  • Ensure the correct application of Coupa Risk Assessment processes.
  • Optimize the supplier onboarding process to minimize cycle times, including monitoring external services.
Project Management:
  • Manage the implementation of the Risk Assessment platform at various sites.
  • Oversee project kick-offs and management.
  • Demonstrate the platform to site teams and gather requirements for unique needs in new regions.
  • Facilitate testing and support during the hyper-care stage.
  • Coordinate closely with Coupa Procurement implementation projects.
Change / Release Management:
  • Lead internal communications regarding the Coupa Risk Assessment solution, including rollouts and enhancements.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to assess the impact of proposed changes on the application.
  • Analyze and mitigate risks from the Coupa quarterly release program, coordinating the deployment of new features.
  • Maintain functional design documentation in line with system changes.
  • Ensure alignment of the functional design with financial and procurement controls.
  • Document and resolve issues arising from the platform's output.
  • Participate in training to enhance business process knowledge.
Supplier Management:
  • Ensure the supplier screening strategy aligns with business requirements and industry best practices.
  • Maintain high data quality standards as per the content strategy.
  • Inform local teams of new features and opportunities for data management.
Supplier Risk Management:
  • Configure Coupa Risk Assessment to meet corporate requirements, including compliance programs.
  • Support Vendor Management teams to ensure efficient supplier onboarding.
  • Assist in developing and administering workflow changes and new screening programs.
  • Audit supplier onboarding forms for compliance with organizational policies.
  • Monitor approval flows within the onboarding process.
Requirements:
  • A degree or diploma in Business or Information Technology with at least 5 years of relevant experience in an S2P environment.
  • A thorough understanding of the Coupa Source to Pay Platform and associated ERPs.
  • Familiarity with Systems Analytics and Reporting tools, such as Power BI.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills, with a focus on interpersonal and team-building abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Fluency in English and one local regional language is required.
  • Willingness to travel to various sites as necessary.
