About the Opportunity:

Southport Aerospace Centre Inc. is seeking a visionary Chief Executive Officer to lead the organization through a period of significant investment and growth. As a seasoned executive, you will be responsible for driving business strategies, managing multi-million-dollar budgets, and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement business plans to drive improvements and operational efficiency.
  2. Establish and maintain a proactive approach to organizational change and development.
  3. Act as a liaison, communicating effectively with the Board of Directors and stakeholders.
  4. Market the assets and opportunities at Southport to achieve optimal economic benefit and employment.
  5. Act as a spokesperson for the organization, promoting the company's mission, vision, and values.
  6. Foster a culture that promotes ethical practices, customer focus, and service.
  7. Provide guidance and leadership to executive leaders and stakeholders on matters relating to operations.
  8. Ensure compliance with applicable provincial and federal regulations.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Degree in business, administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  2. A career of progressively senior responsibilities, including 5+ years working as a senior executive leader and/or CEO.
  3. Experience managing multi-million-dollar budgets and implementing mission, vision, and values.
  4. Direct experience in strategic planning, business development, budget-planning, and project management.
  5. Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles.
  6. Familiarity with core business functions such as marketing, PR, sales, risk management, etc.
  7. In-depth knowledge of corporate governance and general management best practices.
  8. Previous experience working in privately managed airports, and/or public/private partnerships considered an asset.
  9. Ability to motivate others to achieve goals and objectives in a time-sensitive environment.
  10. Resourceful with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and strong project management and prioritization skills.
  11. Superior oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
  12. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional business partners to achieve results.
  13. Exceptional work ethic, professional integrity, and emotional intelligence.
