Job Title: Senior Land Use Planner

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Land Use Planner to join our team at Parsons Corporation. As a Senior Land Use Planner, you will be responsible for leading the completion of area, site, and corridor land use studies and master plans, as well as developing policy analyses, planning rationales, and feasibility studies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of land use plans and policies that promote sustainable and equitable development.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address community needs and concerns.
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform land use planning decisions.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote transit-oriented development, urban mobility, and urban design.
  • Manage and coordinate planning applications, including Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendments, Site Plan Control, Plans of Subdivision, Severances, and Minor Variances.
  • Prepare and present materials to clients and public meetings, committees, and councils.
  • Develop and implement environmental assessment studies, including evaluation of alternatives as a land use and policy subject matter expert.
  • Negotiate or assist in negotiating relevant agreements and conditions.
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree in Planning or degree related to planning.
  • Minimum of 7 years of related and progressive experience.
  • Positive attitude towards work, colleagues, and supportive of a team environment.
  • Working knowledge of land development process and land use and infrastructure planning in Ontario.
  • Strong initiative, independence, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent English written and oral communications skills. Ability to communicate (oral and written) in French is considered an asset.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Membership in the Ontario Professional Planners Institute and Canadian Institute of Planners.
