About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Land Use Planner to join our team at Egis Canada. As a key member of our land development team, you will play a critical role in supporting our clients' land development endeavors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the delivery of consulting work to private and public sector clients, including managing project teams, budgets, and other aspects of project administration.
  • Lead and supervise project team members, as needed.
  • Client management, including work to procure work from private and public sector clients.
  • Review municipal and provincial planning documents and provide professional planning input and advice on land development projects.
  • Liaise with municipalities and government agencies concerning development applications and other planning-related deliverables.
  • Conduct presentations before municipal Committees and Councils.
  • Manage projects and coordinate approvals for development projects.
  • Produce planning reports/rationales.
  • Review development submissions on behalf of municipal clients.
Requirements
  • Completion of a university degree in land use planning or related discipline.
  • Registered Professional Planner (RPP) and a full Member of the Canadian Institute of Planners (MCIP).
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience in land use planning profession, preferably including experience in the private-sector and with supporting municipal-sector clients with development/peer review and policy review services.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (French considered an asset).
  • Sound business development and client liaison skills and a keen entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Established skills and capabilities in project management, with the ability to manage dynamic projects of varying scales.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with clients and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management skills.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint and Word).
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and GIS considered an asset.
