Job Summary

GFL Environmental is a leading provider of waste management and environmental services. We are seeking a skilled Refinery Process Operator to join our team at the North Vancouver Refinery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor process units and ancillaries to ensure safe and efficient production.
  • Monitor and control process levels, temperatures, pressures, and flows to optimize refinery operations.
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations and GFL Environmental standards.
  • Perform emergency operation activities as needed.
  • Regularly attend safety meetings and identify safety concerns to supervisor.
  • Perform mechanical and equipment maintenance as required.
  • Train on unfamiliar processes and equipment as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in petroleum refinery operations.
  • Strong understanding of oil distillation and/or hydrotreating.
  • Current holder of BC or Inter-provincial 4th Class Power Engineering certificate.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work under minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.

This is a safety-sensitive position. Offers of employment are conditional upon successful completion of required medical, physical, drug, and alcohol testing.
