Job Summary

GFL Environmental is a leading provider of waste management and environmental services. We are seeking a skilled Refinery Operator to join our team at the North Vancouver Refinery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor process units and ancillaries to ensure safe and efficient production.
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations and GFL Environmental standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and machinery.
  • Collaborate with the Operation Supervisor to optimize process operations and improve efficiency.
  • Participate in safety meetings and identify potential hazards to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Provide guidance and training to less experienced operators.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in petroleum refining or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of oil distillation and hydrotreating processes.
  • Current holder of BC or Inter-provincial 4th Class Power Engineering certificate.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Physical stamina to perform labor-intensive tasks and work varying shifts.
