About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Eco Kids-Child Care Centre. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and engaging environment for our young learners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Design and implement child-care programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and train staff, trainees, or volunteers to ensure a high standard of care and education.
  • Engagement and Activities: Engage children in activities such as storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts to foster their creativity and curiosity.
  • Health and Hygiene: Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, and prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.
  • Progress and Problem-Solving: Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings and attend meetings to stay updated on their development.
  • Environment and Safety: Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children, including ensuring immunization records and tuberculosis tests are up-to-date.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Certifications and Memberships: Member of the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE), Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, and CPR Certificate.
  • Work Environment: Work in a noisy, non-smoking environment with a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Personal Qualities: Punctuality, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent written communication, flexibility, reliability, and a team player with strong values and ethics.

Language and Work Conditions

The primary language of work is English, and the work term is permanent with 35-40 hours per week.
