About the Role:
The Product Owner is a key member of our Individual Project Management team at Equitable CA. As a Product Owner, you will be responsible for maximizing the value of our products, which are defined as journeys or sets of cross-cutting capabilities within a line of business or corporate area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Vision: Develop and maintain a clear product vision, ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder expectations.
- Product Backlog Management: Manage the product backlog, ensuring it is visible, transparent, and clear to all stakeholders. This includes activities such as expressing product backlog items, ensuring the product backlog is up-to-date, and prioritizing items based on business value and customer needs.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, design, and QA, to ensure effective communication and alignment on product requirements and priorities.
- Stakeholder Management: Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate product progress and status to ensure transparency and trust.
- Agile Ceremonies: Facilitate key agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, sprint refinement, and sprint review to ensure effective team collaboration and alignment.
- Decision-Making: Make informed decisions on product features and priorities, considering business value, customer needs, and technical feasibility.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks to the product, ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder expectations.
Requirements:
- Business Acumen: Strong understanding of the business domain and ability to translate business needs into product requirements.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Agile Methodologies: Experience with agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
- Product Management Tools: Familiarity with product management tools, such as Jira and Asana.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically, considering long-term business objectives and stakeholder expectations.
