The Role:

This position offers a part-time opportunity (up to 20 hours weekly) within the Fitness and Leisure division.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering high-quality child care services for families utilizing community resources
  • Engaging with and nurturing children from infancy to 6 years of age
  • Organizing enjoyable activities in a secure and welcoming environment
  • Demonstrating excellent customer service and communication abilities
  • Maintaining a clean and healthy space for children to play and learn


Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Valid Standard First Aid – Level C CPR with AED certification (documentation required)
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in child care and engagement with young children
  • A sincere passion for working with children
  • Capability to perform under pressure in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Level 1 ECE/Child Development Worker certification is a plus

Additional Details:

This part-time role (approximately 20 hours weekly) involves daytime shifts from early morning to early afternoon, evening shifts, and weekend hours.

Candidates with morning availability during weekdays may be prioritized. Furthermore, individuals with Level 1 Early Childhood Educator certification may qualify for additional roles in licensed programs.

Successful candidates should be prepared for physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and kneeling. Sitting on low furniture and the floor will be a regular requirement during shifts.


A current, acceptable Criminal Records Check, including Vulnerable Sector screening, will be necessary upon hiring.
