Role Overview
The Case Management Nurse plays a vital role in delivering medical assistance to patients and healthcare professionals. This includes educating stakeholders on various health conditions and therapeutic options, as well as managing disease progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive medical support to patients and healthcare providers, focusing on education regarding specific illnesses and treatment plans;
- Provide telephonic assistance as required, handling both incoming and outgoing calls to ensure patient adherence and maintenance;
- Oversee databases, ensuring accuracy and integrity of records and information;
- Implement and adhere to case management protocols, which encompass clinical oversight, data gathering, patient follow-up, compliance monitoring, reporting of adverse events, and collaboration with primary healthcare providers;
- Prepare for and participate in specialized training sessions related to specific therapies provided by the pharmaceutical team;
- Work alongside reimbursement specialists and medical professionals to facilitate funding for patient therapies;
- Engage in pharmaceutical sales meetings and patient conferences as necessary;
- Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with the pharmaceutical team;
- Coordinate with healthcare providers, pharmacies, and infusion clinics to manage treatments and address any arising issues;
- Document and report adverse events to the appropriate units or departments;
- Perform additional responsibilities as needed, which may include being on standby or on call.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or registered nurse (RN) diploma, accompanied by a minimum of five years of nursing experience;
- At least two years of experience in public or private third-party reimbursement, the pharmaceutical sector, managed care, or clinical support;
- Preferred experience in healthcare and case management;
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English is mandatory;
