Essential Qualifications

  • Prior experience in glass installation is advantageous

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assess requirements for glass, frames, and other materials
  • Interpret blueprints and technical specifications
  • Accurately measure, mark, and cut glass
  • Assemble and install various glass products
  • Estimate project costs and necessary materials
  • Oversee the work of junior staff
  • Provide guidance and training to apprentices
Required Certifications and Training
  • Certification for working at heights
  • Training in Occupational Health and Safety
Tools and Materials
  • Experience with acrylic plexiglass, float glass, mirrors, and sealed units
  • Knowledge of frame fabrication techniques including curtain walls and aluminum framing
  • Proficiency in glass cutting methods using various tools
  • Specialization in installation of skylights, stained glass, aluminum storefronts, and shower doors
  • Familiarity with equipment such as carbide and diamond bits
