Job Title: Quality Technician

SGS Canada is seeking a highly skilled Quality Technician to join our team. As a Quality Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the continued administration and monitoring of the adherence of the Food laboratory operations to the Quality Management System policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Quality System Compliance: Ensure compliance with Quality System procedures and maintain accurate records.
  • Equipment Verification and Calibration: Perform routine equipment verification and calibration to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Quality Control and Assurance: Review and quality control of analysis and supporting records, and maintain and monitor chemical, standard, and reference control materials inventories and usage.
  • Equipment Maintenance and Inventory: Maintain and monitor equipment inventory, review instrument qualification and maintenance records, and assist with Health and Safety related items.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain and archive laboratory and QA records, and create/update SLIM method schemes/QC codes.
  • Training and Development: Maintain/monitor training records for staff and ensure the Quality System tools are available and used.
  • Internal Audits and Investigations: Participate in internal audits, for-cause investigations, and follow up as needed, and assist in the coordination of PT programs.
Qualifications:
  • Education: B.Sc. or Diploma (in a science discipline) from a recognized technical institute with equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Previous laboratory experience in an ISO/IEC 17025 and/or GMP environment is preferred, and previous experience in a Quality Control and/or Quality Assurance role in a regulated industry is an asset.
  • Skills: Superior organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, ability to interpret and analyze data with a strong science background, and proficiency in using various types of computer software.
