About the Job

Mike Wiegele Helicopter Skiing is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heli Sous Chef to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of food preparation and presentation in our Heli kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Orient new employees to the kitchen environment and provide department-specific training.
  • Supervise the preparation of Heli lunches and ensure that all food is stored in appropriate containers, labeled, and rotated to ensure high standards of freshness.
  • Review the menu and guest nutritional requirements, making sandwiches and private lunches according to the menu and preferences.
  • Prep for the following day and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Communicate all problems and ideas to your supervisor and provide input for menus, creating, developing, and recommending recipes.
  • Ensure that the morale of the kitchen staff is maintained by practicing positive strategies to motivate staff, encourage self-esteem, and efficiency.

Requirements

  • University or College Diploma in a Culinary field preferred.
  • Certified Chef designation preferred.
  • FoodSafe Certification and WHMIS required.
  • Two to three years' experience in a similar position.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work independently and as part of a team.
  • Will to work a variety of night and weekend shifts.

Compensation

$25.00 per hour, plus auto gratuities, season completion bonus $1 per hour.
